Hope Ducks

Hope Duck

What began as one idea has grown into a movement.

Today, Hope Duck Ambassadors across the United States—and now internationally—are placing Hope Ducks in their own communities, spreading encouragement one act of kindness at a time.

Together, ambassadors have distributed hundreds of Hope Ducks, partnered with schools and community organizations, and helped bring mental health awareness to thousands of people through outreach, speaking engagements, and social media.

Each duck represents another opportunity to remind someone:

You matter.
You are loved.
There is hope.

The Story Behind the Initiative

Hope Duck was founded by Makenna Sisk as an extension of her mental health advocacy platform, Mental Health Matters.

Mental health isn't just a cause Makenna supports—it's one she's experienced firsthand. Having witnessed mental illness affect members of her own family and walked alongside a close friend through her mental health journey, she understands how important it is for people to know they are seen, valued, and never alone.

Through Hope Duck, she hopes to make conversations about mental health more common, reduce stigma, and create unexpected moments of encouragement in communities around the world.

Because sometimes the smallest reminder can make the biggest difference.
